E has an amazing space on a hillside overlooking the water.  I think she would agree with me when I say it needs a bit of freshening up to live up to its full potential.  Here is the loooooong wall with the fireplace, we are going to flank it with built-in cabinetry:

Here is the other side of that fireplace with the beautiful big window and the big eyesore of a TV which to my surprise is a flatscreen and going up on the wall above the fireplace asap!

This room is used for TV watching, eating, music practicing (both a drum set and a piano), playing and general family mayhem.  Pictured below is just a glimpse at why we will benefit from some built in cabinetry.  If you look closely that is a lego fireman on the floor of Barbie’s limo just lying there, I wonder what Barbie did to him?;)

Here is a little something we picked up at the Alameda Antique fair, I think it is going into the dining room when we get around to that.  E wants an updated victorian mixed with mid century mod look.  We are bringing Grandma’s living/dining room into the now.

I started a Pinterest board here with ideas/inspiration.  We are using burgundy wine red, gold tones and probably greens.  It is all still up for discussion, but she wants to warm it up in there and I am in complete agreement!
