We have almost finished the upstairs bathroom remodel. I can’t believe I was initially against remodeling it! I didn’t want to put any more money into this house, but my husband made me see the light. Sometimes he has a good idea or two.;) Let’s start from the ground up, the floor. I found this great deal on Craig’s List for honey onyx tile and that was the jumping off point. But I didn’t want to do yellows and browns, I wanted to do yellow, gray and white. No cream, no brown, white and grey thankyouverymuch. Here is a shot of the honey onyx on the floor:
The middle of the floor is thassos white marble also from Craig’s list;) and the glass mosaic border is from Home Depot here. I really dig this company Mosaic Loft, they have gorgeous designs. The glass mosaic tile threw my tile guy a bit because it has a sticky backing as apposed to a paper backing that comes off with water.
Here is a wider view of the tile:
Is that about enough of the closeups??? I don’t think so.;) Here is a view under the vanity:
OK, now I think we might be done with the closeups… here is a wider shot to see how it looks under the soaker tub:
Oh, I should have moved the bath matt so you could see how the tile border just dives into the tub there. I was a wee bit worried about how the tile rug thing would look when it actually went under the toilet, sink and bathtub. I don’t think you see that much, I’ve seen the border come in so that it isn’t hidden under the tub… I didn’t want to do that, I wanted the tile to frame the whole room. More to come on the walls tomorrow, can you guess what that is above the carrera marble chair rail?
